2 Ways to Make Transmitter Calibrations Easier in Hard-to-Reach Locations with the QTHR Hose Reel
When your truck can’t get anywhere close to the transmitter, you’re usually stuck either dragging the nitrogen tank all the way out to the test site, or running 50+ feet of hose.
Neither option is ideal, but with the right tools and setup, you can save time and make the process much easier.
Pressure Where You Need: Even in Remote Test Sites
The QTHR Hose Reel Kit delivers pressure exactly where you need it, even when your truck can’t get you there.
It’s a durable hose reel with 50+ ft of Quick-test hose that, when paired with a block and bleed valve, lets you run a pressurized hose out to remote transmitters without hauling the nitrogen.
We talked to experienced techs who’ve tackled some seriously remote transmitter setups using the QTHR Hose Reel Kit, and here’s what they recommend:
Carry the Hose Reel to the Test Site
Connect your inlet hose to the nitrogen cylinder at the truck and walk out to the transmitter with the hose reel and up to 150' of pressurized Quick-test hose.
Then, connect a short hose from the hose reel to your calibration manifold or compressed gas volume controller.

Mount the Reel to Your Truck
Connect a short Quick-test hose from the inlet port on the hose reel to the pressure regulator on your gas source at the truck.
Then, carry the other end of your hose to the test site, unspooling the pressurized hose as you go.

Built for Both Field Setups: Mount or Carry
Whether you mount it or carry it, the QTHR is built to make your job easier from setup to cleanup.
Less to Carry
You can cover a lot of distance without hauling nitrogen around.
Whether you connect to the regulator at the truck or carry the reel to the site, the tank stays in the truck.
Smooth Hose Management
Controlling the tension as you reel back in makes it a lot easier to manage long sections of hose.
It keeps your hose off the ground and prevents kinks, knots, and bird’s nests.
Quick Cleanup and Storage
Once it’s reeled back in, the locking pin makes it easy to stow it for the next test.
And with the right setup, you can save a lot of nitrogen between tests.
